Historical Significance

Released in BE 2529 (1986) by Wat Arun Ratchawararam, this Somdej Song Kaiser Pim Yai is part of a major devotional project preserving classical wicha. Materials were curated over decades and empowered in formal Putthapisek under the Supreme Patriarch with a grand assembly of senior monks. The “Crack Model” surface is a well-known result of the large powder content and traditional drying.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Sacred powder (Nur Phong) incorporating historic Somdej powders (Wat Rakhang, Wat Intharaviharn, Wat Mai Amataros, Wat Paknam—Roon 1/4/6), temple soils, relic powders, floral pollens, and traditional binders. Pim Yai (~3.8 cm) shows soft press rhythm, crisp five-lotus base, and micro-fissures from authentic curing—a collector’s tell.

Spiritual Attributes

Devotees venerate Somdej Kaiser for Klaew Klaad (protection/evasion of danger), Metta Mahaniyom (affinity, support), and Maha Lap (good fortune). The Pim Yai is favored for daily wear—balanced presence without the heft of Jumbo.
