Purpose of Creation

Luang Phor Chuet created the Phra Rahu Kala Khae BE 2520 batch:

  • To dispel bad luck, ward off evil, and counteract ill omens associated with planetary misfortune (Rahu periods)

  • To support temple development during the early formation of Suan Patipat Dhamma Phothi Setthi (now Wat Pho Thisathi Wanaram)

  • To give devotees a powerful talisman for overcoming obstacles in career, health, finance, and karmic influences

This batch became especially renowned for its protective qualities and popularity among traders, government officers, and those going through personal struggles.

Material Composition

The amulet was made from Kala Khae, a black sacred resin traditionally used for high-protection talismans, mixed with:

  • Crushed herbs and roots used in traditional Thai medicine

  • Powdered remnants of old amulets and sacred yantra scrolls

  • Resin from auspicious trees such as black ebony and takian

  • Oil from traditional exorcism rites

  • Blessed candle wax from extended chanting ceremonies

Each amulet was handcrafted and coated in layers of lacquer to strengthen its protective aura.

Consecration Ceremony (Puttapisek)

The consecration of the Phra Rahu amulet took place in BE 2520 at Wat Pho Thisathi Wanaram, led by Luang Phor Chuet himself.

Key features of the consecration:

  • Conducted during a Rahu-eclipse aligned astrological window, believed to enhance Rahu’s transformative power

  • Involved intense meditation, mantra recitations, and invocations of Rahu deva

  • Multiple monks and ajarns from Nakhon Pathom and nearby provinces joined to empower the batch

  • Sacred smoke, oil, and fire offerings were performed to align with Rahu’s dark, consuming energy

Spiritual Properties and Beliefs

The Phra Rahu Kala Khae amulet is believed to provide:

  • Protection from dark influences, accidents, black magic, and curses

  • Reversal of bad luck, especially for those affected by their birth chart (Janma Rahu or Rahu in malefic houses)

  • Wealth attraction through removing hidden obstacles

  • Career stability for those facing uncertainties or competition

  • Calming of planetary afflictions, especially during Rahu periods in astrology

Devotees often offer black offerings such as black jelly, black coffee, or black sticky rice to enhance the connection to Rahu when wearing or praying with this amulet.

Legacy and Recognition

The BE 2520 batch of Phra Rahu Kala Khae by LP Chuet is considered:

  • One of the earliest and most potent Rahu creations from Nakhon Pathom

  • A precursor to later versions of Phra Rahu from Wat Pho Thisathi Wanaram, often used as a model

  • Highly respected among collectors for its craftsmanship, astrological timing, and sacred ritual background

It remains a sought-after amulet, particularly among those dealing with planetary affliction, legal matters, or volatile business ventures.
