Background & Purpose
This commemorative edition represents a union of spiritual devotion and cultural heritage. It was produced as part of Wat Rakhang’s ongoing efforts to safeguard its legacy, especially the restoration of its sermon hall—an important site in Thai Buddhist history.
Consecration Ceremony
The sacred event combined Buddhist and Brahmin rites. The highlight was the lighting of the Victory Candle by Somdej Phra Yansangwon, the Supreme Patriarch. More than 120 revered monks joined in meditation and blessings, including:
- Luang Por Mee, Wat Maravichai
- Luang Por Uttamu, Wat Wiwek
- Luang Por Tim, Wat Phra Khao
- Luang Por Mian, Wat Pho
- Other respected masters from the Somdej To lineage, contributing spiritual power and merit.
Sacred Artifacts Produced
Multiple sacred items were created, including powder amulets, metal amulets, Buddha statues, and commemorative coins. Five new molds were made:
- Phra Somdej Prathan – principal image
- Phra Somdej Prak Bodhi – Bodhi posture
- Phra Somdej Than Sam – triple-tiered base
- Phra Somdej Khanaen
- Phra Somdej To – depicting Somdej Toh himself
Each amulet was composed of sacred powders from earlier Wat Rakhang editions, along with remnants linked to Somdej Toh. This mixture gave the amulets exceptional spiritual and historical value.
