1. Ordination and Early Training

Luang Phu Lampoo was ordained on 1st May B.E. 2465 (Monday, 6th Lunar Phase of the 6th Lunar Month) at Wat Gai Jan, Ayutthaya.

  • Upachaya (Preceptor): Luang Por Badtr Intachodti, Wat Sadteru, Ayutthaya

  • Kammavācācariya (Chanting Teacher): Phra Atigarn Luean, Wat Thalung Hlek

  • Anusavanācariya (Repetition Teacher): Phra Ajarn Tong Dee, Wat Bua Nam

During his early monkhood, he immersed himself in the study of Khom Agkhara (ancient Khmer and Sanskrit magical script) and sacred Buddhist incantations.

2. Vipassana Practice and Scriptural Study

In B.E. 2469, Luang Phu moved to Wat Chang Tong, Ayutthaya, where he spent 7 years practicing Kammathana Vipassana (meditation) and deepening his study of Puttakom sorcery and Khom script.

In B.E. 2473, he attained the Bachelor’s Degree in Buddhist Studies at Wat Nong Khuean Kang, Saraburi Province.

3. Relocation to Wat Bang Khun Phrom

In B.E. 2477, Luang Phu Lampoo relocated to Wat Bang Khun Phrom, Bangkok, to continue his spiritual practice. He was first offered the position of Vice Abbot in B.E. 2502, but he declined, recommending a younger monk instead. Later, in B.E. 2512, he formally accepted the position and served with devotion.

4. Role in the Wat Bang Khun Phrom Chedi Opening

Luang Phu Lampoo was a key committee member (Gammagarn) during the opening of the Chedi Yai Gru chamber at Wat Bang Khun Phrom in B.E. 2500, which housed the historic Phra Somdej amulets made by Somdej Phra Phutthachan (Toh) Prohmrangsri of Wat Rakang Kositaram.

After the official distribution, the broken or damaged amulets were given to Luang Phu Lampoo for safekeeping. As word spread that he possessed these relics, devotees began requesting them.

5. Reformation and Creation of New Phra Somdej Amulets

Rather than distribute the broken pieces, Luang Phu Lampoo ground them into fine powder and mixed them with additional sacred powders from other respected temples and masters. He then recast them into new Phra Somdej amulets, following the original design tradition (Dtamra) of Somdej Toh from Wat Rakang.

These amulets were created in both:

  • Light-colored sacred powder (Phong Wahn)

  • Black Pong Bailan, made from burned Buddhist scripture (parchment grimoires)

6. Death and Final Cremation

Luang Phu Lampoo passed away on 1st September B.E. 2533 (1990). His body was enshrined for one year at Wat Bang Khun Phrom for public homage before being transferred to Wat Gai Jan, Ayutthaya—his original temple—to the vihara he had designated for himself.

For nearly two decades, his body showed no signs of decay, astonishing devotees.

In B.E. 2552 (2009), his disciples and the temple committee decided to perform a royal cremation ceremony, which took place on 14th November 2552 at 16:00 hrs.
