Luang Phor Pae (Lp Pae) Wat Pikulthong, Singburi

Luang Phor Pae was born in B.E. 2448 in Singburi Province, Thailand. His studies in Pali began at age 11 under Arjan Pan and Arjan Pom at Wat Pikulthong. Two years later, he moved to Bangkok to continue his studies with Prah Arjan Som. At age 16, he returned to Wat Pikulthong and was ordained as a novice monk.

After passing all relevant exams and dedicating himself to temple service, Luang Phor Pae was appointed abbot of Wat Pikulthong at the young age of 26 in B.E. 2474. Six years later, with the support of Luang Phor See of Wat Praphrand, he blessed his first batch of amulets to fund temple reconstruction efforts.

One of Luang Phor Pae’s notable amulet batches was the “Rainbow Phra Somdej Than Saem” created in B.E. 2517. International film star Jackie Chan wore this amulet during a filming accident, where he miraculously escaped with only minor scratches after a fall from a clock tower. This led some collectors to nickname this batch “Phra Somdej B.E. 2517 Phim Jackie Chan.”

In his role as abbot, Luang Phor Pae was committed to helping young children whose families could not afford their upbringing or education. He took in and raised these children, providing them with an education. During his time at Wat Rakang, he also taught young children in the community.

Many Thais, especially those in Singburi and Bangkok, continue to hold Luang Phor Pae’s amulets in high regard due to his efforts to support the community, particularly in raising and educating children. His amulets, such as the various Phra Somdej, were often created to raise funds for hospitals, road construction, schools, and assistance for the elderly.

The Phra Somdej amulets created by Luang Phor Pae are highly regarded for their efficacy. He was known for using the powerful Chinnabanchon Katha during consecration, which many wearers believe imbues the amulets with strong Metta Maha Niyom (loving-kindness). Numerous businesspeople and successful individuals wear the Pae Sorng Pan or Pae Sam Pan amulets, reporting similar positive effects.

Before consecrating his amulets, Luang Phor Pae would visit Wat Mai, a temple near Wat Rakang, to pay respects to and spiritually connect with Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh. There, he would meditate for days without food or water before returning to Wat Pikulthong to begin the consecration ceremony.

Luang Phor Pae passed away in B.E. 2542 at the age of 94, having spent over 70 years in monkhood. His commemorative funeral at Wat Pikulthong was held under the patronage of the Thai Royal Family and other dignitaries.

Luang Phor Pae’s legacy and the influence of his amulets continue to grow worldwide. Known for the good causes his amulets supported, their powerful Chinnabunchorn blessings, and his role as a revered teacher, his amulets are treasured and respected by devotees across the globe.
