Introduction

Phra Khru Suwannasatanakun, also known as Luang Pu Nam, Phra Upachaya Nam, or Luang Pu Phu Thao, is a revered monk from Suphan Buri, known for his deep knowledge of Buddhist magic and spiritual wisdom. At 89 years old and having spent 62 years in monkhood, he currently serves as the abbot of Wat Noi Chomphu, located in Tambon Ban Krang, Amphoe Si Prachan, Suphan Buri Province.


Early Life and Ordination

    • Luang Pu Muean passed on all his mystical knowledge, including the ability to summon wasps to guard the temple and cast sacred spells to drive away intruders.
    • Inherited Luang Pu Kham’s sacred cane, nearly 200 years old, which was used for:
      • Blessing amulets
      • Creating holy water
      • Dispelling black magic
      • Healing ailments and even revealing lottery numbers

Advanced Studies at Wat Rakhang

  • Traveled to Wat Rakhang to study under Than Khun Phra Thammathadachan (Luang Pu Naep), a direct successor of Somdej Phra Buddhacarya Toh.
  • During the 1942 grand blessing ceremony at Wat Ratchabophit, he was invited alongside great monks such as:

    • Luang Pu Suk of Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao, studying under his disciple, Luang Pho Samran, who later gifted him an antique Buddha statue from Luang Pu Suk’s era, which he still keeps in his hut.
    • Luang Pho Mui of Wat Don Rai, where he learned advanced magic and the Vayoksin technique, which enabled Takrut scrolls to roll on their own.

    • Khao Krasio, despite warnings of wild animals and poisonous snakes.
    • Wat Phra Phutthabat Ratchaworawihan in Saraburi, where he meditated for several nights.
    • Dong Phaya Yen and Dong Phaya Fai, regions infamous for tigers, ghosts, and black magic.
  • Having survived the dangers, he returned to Wat Noi Chomphu before 2500 BE (1957 CE) and became the acting abbot in 2501 BE (1958 CE).


Monastic Leadership and Amulet Creation

Administrative Roles

  • 2506 BE (1963 CE): Appointed abbot of Wat Noi Chomphu and preceptor.
  • 2522 BE (1979 CE): Became abbot of Wang Yang Sub-district, Si Prachan District.
  • 2527 BE (1984 CE): Elevated to preceptor status.
  • 2550 BE (2007 CE): Received the royal title of Phra Khru Sanyabat, First Class, as Phra Khru Suwannasatanakun.

Amulet Production

  • Started making amulets in 1964, focusing on baked clay and metal types:

    • Phra Khun Paen Ban Krang
    • Phra Yot Khut Phon
  • Used sacred soil from:

    • The Tha Chin River
    • Termite mounds
    • Wat Pak Khlong Makham Thao
  • Made and blessed each amulet personally, giving them to those in need rather than selling them.

  • 1989: Created Phra Ngob Nam Oi lead alloy amulets to honor Luang Por Niam of Wat Noi.

    • Took them to Luang Por Chuan of Wat Kai Tia for final consecration.
    • Luang Por Chuan declared the amulets were already imbued with full spiritual power.
    • The Ngob Nam Oi amulets became widely known for their protective and mystical properties, solidifying Luang Pu Nam’s reputation in Suphan Buri.

Luang Pu Nam remains a highly revered figure in Suphan Buri, known for his:

  1. Profound Buddhist wisdom and magical knowledge.
  2. Mastery in consecrating amulets with unique spiritual potency.
  3. Dedication to preserving and spreading Buddhism through strict adherence to meditation and moral discipline.
  4. Strong connections with Thailand’s most respected monks, making his teachings and amulets highly sought after by devotees.

His name continues to inspire faith, and his amulets serve as powerful relics of protection and blessings for those who seek his guidance.
