Overview

In B.E. 2515 (1972), a grand and historically significant consecration was held at Wat Bang Khlan, Phichit Province, to commemorate the spiritual legacy of Luang Phor Ngern, one of Thailand’s most revered monks. Among the sacred objects created and blessed during this historic event was the Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong amulet, crafted from Nur Phong Bailan, a powerful black powder derived from burnt sacred palm-leaf scriptures.

This batch, which shares its origin with the famed Luang Phor Ngern Buddha images of B.E. 2515, is certified by G-Pra, confirming its authenticity and spiritual lineage.

Meaning and Form of Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong

Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong” (The Five Buddhas) represents five principal Buddhas who collectively embody complete spiritual protection, boundless compassion, wisdom, and merit. This amulet was produced in two main materials:

  • Nur Phong Bailan (black sacred scripture ash)

  • Pressed and fired baked clay

These were created to offer a powerful spiritual alternative for devotees unable to afford original Luang Phor Ngern-era amulets, which had already reached unaffordable prices for most people by the early 1970s.

Ritual Context and Consecration

The Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong amulets were consecrated during the same three-phase ceremony as the famous Luang Phor Ngern Year BE2515, most notably the floating-style Buddha image with a bell inside—an amulet line that has since become one of the most renowned and sought-after in Thai amulet history.

First Consecration:

  • Location: Wat Suthat, Bangkok

  • Date: Prior to December BE2515

  • Ritual: Sacred brass and copper sheets—inscribed and prayed over by famous monks nationwide—were melted to form base materials.

  • Monks involved: 74 monks participated in blessing the raw metals.

Second Consecration:

  • Location: Wat Suthat, Bangkok

  • Date: Sunday, December 5, BE2515

  • Monks involved: 127 senior monks from across the country

  • Rituals: Empowerment of completed amulets and Buddha images in accordance with ancient Puttapisek tradition.

Third and Final Consecration:

  • Location: Wat Bang Khlan, Phichit Province

  • Date: Sunday, January 30 – Monday, January 31, BE2516

  • Monks involved: 96 monks divided into six rotating groups of 16, chanting continuously from 4 p.m. to 6 a.m.

  • Special Phenomenon: The consecration night featured a lunar eclipse, a highly auspicious and rare celestial event in Thai belief.

  • Ceremony: Recitation of the Maha Thip Mantra, Abhiseka chants, and various protective invocations in a prolonged overnight session.

Significance and Spiritual Qualities

The Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong amulets are highly regarded for their:

  • Comprehensive protection across all realms and directions

  • Enhancement of merit, luck, and spiritual strength

  • Barrier against misfortune, spiritual threats, and danger

  • Blessings for peaceful living, prosperity, and mental clarity

These attributes mirror those of the Luang Phor Ngern Year 15 Buddha images, as both were blessed in the same ceremonies, using the same rituals, by the same groups of monks.

Historical Importance of the B.E. 2515 Consecration

The creation of the Luang Phor Ngern Buddha images and sacred objects in B.E. 2515 was an extraordinary spiritual initiative involving:

  • Meticulous preparation of materials (brass, copper, Phong Bailan)

  • Three major consecration events in accordance with ancient scriptures

  • Participation from Thailand’s most senior and accomplished monks

  • National public admiration due to the authenticity and high standard of the ritual

It was widely viewed as a rare and monumental Buddhist event, and the spiritual potency of the amulets produced during this period is deeply respected.

Current Status and Recognition

Today, the Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong BE2515 amulets are:

  • Recognized among seasoned collectors for their ceremonial authenticity and spiritual strength

  • Highly sought-after as an affordable alternative to original Luang Phor Ngern era amulets

  • Authenticated and certified by G-Pra, ensuring legitimacy and collector confidence

Given the rising prices of early Luang Phor Ngern amulets, the B.E. 2515 batch—including Phra Chao Ha Phra Ong—has become the standard substitute for serious practitioners and collectors who wish to connect with Luang Phor Ngern’s legacy without spending millions of baht.
