History of Phra Mahesuan Nur Takrut BE 2552
Created by Luang Phor Tad Powaro
Wat Chaina, Tha Yang District, Phetchaburi Province
With Original Temple Box
1. Background and Purpose of Creation
The Phra Mahesuan Nur Takrut BE 2552 was created under the supervision and blessing of Luang Phor Tad Powaro, the abbot of Wat Chaina. It was produced during the late years of his life and is regarded as one of the final sacred batches he personally empowered.
The purpose of this amulet’s creation was to raise funds for the continued restoration and development of Wat Chaina and to commemorate Luang Phor Tad’s lifelong dedication to the Buddhist faith, spiritual protection, and traditional Thai wicha.
This batch was officially released in 2009 (BE 2552) and distributed with original temple-issued boxes, which adds to its authenticity and collector value.
2. Creator Profile
Luang Phor Tad Powaro, later granted the ecclesiastical title Phra Phutthawiyakorn, was known for his deep practice in both Buddhist Dhamma and Thai occult traditions. He spent over five decades in monkhood, dedicating his life to meditation, study of ancient texts, and the crafting of sacred objects.
He was widely respected across Phetchaburi Province and beyond, particularly for his sincerity, humility, and potent amulets such as Takrud and Palad Khik. His teachings emphasized moral conduct, personal responsibility, and the spiritual connection between the user and the amulet.
3. Description of the Amulet
Name: Phra Mahesuan Nur Takrut
Material: Sacred lead-based compound mixed with fine powders and embedded with small takrud scrolls.
Front Design:
Features a representation of Phra Mahesuan (Mahesuan Buddha image), a form of Buddha with a fierce aura symbolizing protection, authority, and invincibility. The image is embossed in high relief with sharp features and detailed craftsmanship.
Back Design:
Typically flat or features sacred yantras impressed into the metal surface, with some variants showing the temple’s identifying mark or batch code.
Takrud Integration:
This edition is named “Nur Takrut” because each amulet is either composed with a takrud-infused lead alloy or includes miniature takrud scrolls forged into the amulet itself to enhance spiritual power, particularly in protection and authority.
Color and Finish:
Dark grey or blackened lead-like tone, sometimes coated with a protective lacquer for preservation. Aged pieces naturally show patina and oxidization over time.
4. Consecration and Ritual Empowerment
The amulet was blessed during a formal consecration ceremony at Wat Chaina in BE 2552. Although elderly and in declining health, Luang Phor Tad personally participated in the empowerment rites.
The consecration process included:
-
Extended chanting of protective sutras and Buddhist mantras
-
Meditation and spiritual transfer by Luang Phor Tad and senior disciples
-
Recitation of traditional incantations used in ancient warrior talismans
This ceremony was one of the final major rituals conducted by Luang Phor Tad before his passing in May 2009.
5. Spiritual Significance and Beliefs
Phra Mahesuan is traditionally believed to offer the following spiritual benefits:
-
High-level protection against harm, danger, and malevolent forces
-
Authority, leadership, and power over adversaries
-
Enhanced charisma and respect in social or professional environments
-
Support in legal disputes, competition, and high-pressure situations
When combined with the Takrud element, it is said to amplify the amulet’s invulnerability and commanding energy.
6. Collector Information and Authenticity
This amulet is valued for being one of the final batches personally blessed by Luang Phor Tad. Key features confirming authenticity include:
-
Original temple-issued box with printed Wat Chaina identification
-
High-quality casting and defined Mahesuan image
-
Some pieces may have handwritten or embossed temple batch numbers
-
Verified examples may be accompanied by certificates or referenced in local collector databases
Due to its origin, condition, and association with Luang Phor Tad’s final years, this amulet is increasingly sought after among collectors and followers of Thai Buddhist amulets.
