Purpose of Creation

The Roon Charoenphon locket was created to:

  • Celebrate Luang Pu Maha Sila’s spiritual legacy and his advanced age

  • Offer blessings of prosperity, protection, and success to his followers

  • Support the development of religious projects and temple restorations at Wat Pho Si Saat

This batch was limited in production and highly ceremonial in nature, marking a significant spiritual event for the temple community.

Design Features

  • Front:

    • A high-resolution, full-color image of Luang Pu Maha Sila in deep meditation

    • Surrounded by sacred motifs, yantra patterns, and auspicious inscriptions

  • Back:

    • Embedded with 3 takruts (rolled sacred scrolls) representing:

      1. Metta Mahaniyom – charm and kindness

      2. Klaew Klad – protection from harm

      3. Chok Larp – fortune and success

    • Some versions include sacred powders, gem fragments, or temple soils

Each takrut was personally blessed and inscribed according to Maha Sila’s lineage, following Khmer-Buddhist magical traditions.

Materials Used

  • The locket base was crafted from a durable, glossy enamel-coated ceramic-metal composite.

  • Sacred powders (Phong Wahn), old amulet fragments, herbs, and soils were mixed into the base or adhered on the back under the takruts.

  • The takruts were written with Khmer yant scripts using black or gold ink, and rolled in thin sacred foil.

Blessing Ceremony

  • The main consecration ceremony was held at Wat Pho Si Saat in B.E. 2564.

  • The ritual was led by Luang Pu Maha Sila himself, who is known for his deep meditative attainment and lifelong forest practice.

  • Senior monks and disciples participated in chanting protective katha and invoking blessings for abundance, peace, and spiritual strength.

  • Some batches were included in extended meditation sessions by Maha Sila before formal distribution.

Spiritual Powers and Beliefs

The locket is revered for offering the following blessings:

  • Protection from danger and black magic

  • Enhancement of kindness and charisma (Metta)

  • Improved career and business luck

  • Spiritual grounding and inner calm

  • Support for meditation and Dhamma practice

Many devotees reported positive changes in luck, work, and interpersonal relationships after wearing the locket.

Rarity and Distribution

  • Produced in limited quantities, primarily given to temple sponsors, close disciples, and select collectors.

  • Variants may differ slightly in takrut color or backing material, but all are temple-authenticated and issued with sacred intent.

  • Because of Luang Pu Maha Sila’s renown in the Isan forest tradition, these lockets are highly respected and increasingly rare.
