History

Phra Khun Paen Run Mekarashi Mahachoklap, Nur Phong, BE2565 Code 37

Luang Phor Maha Sila, Wat Pho Si Saat, Sisaket Province

Background

In B.E. 2565 (2022), Luang Phor Maha Sila, the abbot of Wat Pho Si Saat in Sisaket Province, released the special batch Phra Khun Paen Run Mekarashi Mahachoklap. This batch was created to commemorate auspicious temple events, support ongoing construction and restoration projects at Wat Pho Si Saat, and generate merit for both the maker and devotees.

Luang Phor Maha Sila is known for his deep knowledge of Wicha Phra Khun Paen, sacred powder preparation, and traditional consecration rites. His amulets are highly respected for their balance of Metta Mahaniyom (charm and popularity), Chok Lap (fortune), and Klaew Klaad (protection from harm).

Name and Meaning

  • Run Mekarashi – “Batch of Auspicious Heavenly Clouds,” symbolizing blessings descending from above like rain clouds nourishing all beings.

  • Mahachoklap – “Great Fortune and Prosperity,” denoting the amulet’s intended power to attract wealth and auspicious opportunities.

  • Phra Khun Paen – One of Thailand’s most famous amulet types, associated with charm, protection, and success.

Material (Nur Phong)

The Nur Phong (sacred powder) used in this batch was prepared by Luang Phor Maha Sila using a traditional multi-ingredient formula that included:

  • Phong Wahn 108 – powders from 108 sacred herbs

  • Phong Bailan – ground sacred scriptures from the temple library

  • Phong from earlier consecrated amulets

  • Flower pollen from Buddha image offerings

  • Holy soil from sacred sites in Sisaket and surrounding provinces

The powders were mixed, blessed, and pressed into molds under strict ritual conditions.

Design and Features

  • Front: Classic Khun Paen seated in meditation, flanked by guardians, with intricate Yantra designs symbolizing protection, charm, and fortune.

  • Back: Sacred yant patterns and seed syllables, possibly incorporating Yant Maha Choklap for wealth and protection, along with Luang Phor’s personal blessing marks.

  • Size: Suitable for wearing as a personal talisman.

  • Color: Natural beige to light brown tone from sacred powder mixture.

Consecration Ceremony

The consecration of the Phra Khun Paen Run Mekarashi Mahachoklap was carried out in several stages:

  1. Initial Material Blessing – Luang Phor Maha Sila chanted over the powders during their preparation, invoking the protective and prosperity-granting qualities of each ingredient.

  2. Mold Pressing Ritual – Amulets were pressed in a sanctified area, with chanting of Katha Phra Khun Paen and other charm-enhancing mantras.

  3. Phutthaphisek Ceremony – A major empowerment ritual held at Wat Pho Si Saat, with participation of senior monks from Sisaket and nearby provinces, chanting protective suttas and wealth-attracting mantras.

  4. Final Meditation Empowerment – Luang Phor Maha Sila personally meditated and transferred baramee (spiritual merit) into each amulet.

Spiritual Significance

This Phra Khun Paen batch is believed to bestow:

  • Metta Mahaniyom – making the wearer more likable and respected

  • Chok Lap – attracting wealth, good opportunities, and financial stability

  • Klaew Klaad – avoiding harm and dangerous situations

  • Phon Phonlap – general blessings for success in personal and professional life

It is intended for those seeking both material and spiritual prosperity while maintaining moral discipline.
